The Biggest Loser

Well, with the new year the time has once again come for people to make the resolution to lose weight. At work they are having a biggest loser competition, with weekly weigh-ins, motivational lunches (at which I am sure they will only serve celery sticks and water) and other such things. One of my co-workers signed up and I took a look at all the stuff they would be doing and decided to join as well. For $12 I can handle it. And it isn't a bad thing, right? What is the worst that could happen, well, not losing weight I guess. No, actually gaining weight would probably be the worst...
To be honest, I don't have high expectations. I already had goals to be healthier this year, and have been working on those, and I imagine that as I continue to work out and eat better I will just replace fat with muscle, and since muscle weighs more than fat, I will probably end up weighing more. Sigh...woe is me. Anyway, that is one of the recent little developments in my life. Not too exciting, but I will call it a development nonetheless! :)

Birding!

No, I am not an ornithologist. But I did go bird watching with a few people I work with at the temple in...November I believe. Of course these pictures are months old, I am really behind in posting things. This was my first attempt at bird watching, it was pretty fun actually. And the day we went was so clear and beautiful! Well, just check out the pictures and you can see for yourself.

Going to the chapel...

My sister emailed this picture to me, kind of random. It was taken a few years ago, when my mom and I went to UT to help Elizabeth pick out a wedding dress. Oh what a fun day that was...if anyone knows Elizabeth then they can imagine. If you don't, let me paint a little picture for you. My mom and I arrived at the Salt Lake airport around 8 am, and from that time until 6:00 we went to every dress shop that we could find in the valley. It was the longest day ever! Each dress she tried on we had to critique and analyze, how it made her look, the length, the cut, etc. If I look like I am in a daze in that picture, it is because of the wedding dress frenzy. All I have to say, is that when I get married, hypothetically speaking of course, my sister is going to have to do a lot to pay me back. Just kidding Elizabeth!

Some older pics...

Here are some pictures from my trip to Utah in October. I went with two friends, SuGen and Elizabeth, and we went to a session of conference and then hung out with friends and family for the rest of the weekend- it was a great time!

Thanksgiving 2008

Here are a few pictures of what I did over the Thanksgiving weekend...
This is what greeted me when I got off the plane and into the car...very dramatic poses.

Here are some pictures from our outing to the train museum in Sacramento.
